Full Training

Training is key! Many people come into fostering without any prior knowledge of the role so it’s important we offer training right from the start. You do not need any formal qualifications to join our team; all that we ask is that you are open to learning and open to developing on your skills and experience.

Our training begins within your fostering assessment, continues into your induction and progresses throughout your fostering career. We offer a combination of online training and face to face training courses to ensure we have something to suit everyone’s training needs. We train all of our foster parents in Therapeutic Parenting and PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, empathy) Parenting. We provide training on how to respond in emergency situations, how to build attachments with the children you are caring for and importantly, on how to safeguard the children in your care. All of our training is designed with the intention of supporting our families to offer safe, nurturing and supportive foster placements to children and young people.
