Pre-Approval Training

During your fostering assessment you will be invited to our Skills to Foster Training Course. Skills to Foster is a 3-day training course which all applicants need to complete in order to be approved to foster. 

The course takes a look at various aspects of the fostering role in order to prepare applicants for fostering. Our courses are designed to be informal, fun and informative. The course offers lots of information but also offers new applicants the chance to meet other applicants (and hopefully strike up some friendships!). In addition to our Skills to Foster training, we also offer an additional day of Pre-approval training named “Introduction to Therapeutic Parenting”. This is where your therapeutic training begins and gives a good overview of what we mean by “Therapeutic Parenting” and why it is important for children who are looked after.
